The Infinite Black began life as an art series created by Dan Verkys in 2012. The series has evolved over recent years becoming clearly a defined world of it’s own.
In 2023 the fully illustrated horror / dark sci-fi book entitled Infinite Black: Tales from the Abyss, was released, the book was collaboratively written with poet Jeff Oliver and Dan Verkys. It’s development provided Dan the opportunity to fully articulate his vision of a dimension raiding mechanised Hellworld, ruled by a tyrannical A.I overseer known as Mother. Mother’s goal is to enslave, assimilate and eventually eradicate humanity.
The opportunity to work with Chris Szkup to create a soundtrack for the Infinite Black, was another chance for Dan to expand the world further and share the story sonically, hopefully further solidifying it as a fully fleshed entity.
